New findings from Opinium Research reveal that the nation believes that Bradley Wiggins will win ‘sports personality of the year’, following his amazing success at this year’s Tour de France and Olympics 2012.

The research discovered that the UK’s top 10 favourites for sports personalities for 2012 are:

  • Bradley Wiggins (26%)
  • Jessica Ennis (16%)
  • Mo Farah (14%)
  • Andy Murray (7%)
  • Chris Hoy (5%)
  • Ellie Simmonds (5%)
  • David Weir (2%)
  • Ben Ainslie (2%)
  • Rory McIlroy and Nicola Adams (1%)

Opinium Research carried out an online survey of 2,011 UK adults from 27th to 29th November 2012, aged 18+. Results have been weighted to nationally representative criteria.
